This is the best spinning reel, priced below $200, I have ever used. You should ignore the fact that this reel doesn’t have vented spools and has fewer bearings than other reels in its price range. Those are cosmetic features often used by manufacturers to mask a general lack of quality. This reel is strong, quiet and reliable. It casts long, has perfect line lay and makes absolutely no rubbing noise during oscilation. Shimano reels are more durable than other brands I have used and are very easy to maintain, requiring only an occasional addition of a few drops of oil. This service is made even easier thanks to the lube port provided on this model. This is the smoothest, most silent, most durable and easy to maintain reel I have ever used and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have purchase a shakesphere reel and it took 1 month of fishing to destroy the reel, so i went and purchased the shimano symetre and this reel cast like a champ. This reel is heavy duty and very smooth. If you looking for a real reel get a shimano….. The Name Says It All.

I own the AV55A and it’s hands down the best reel I’ve ever owned. I bought it because it has the hydro block seal which prevents salt water from getting to the inside of the reel. I use this reel in both salt and fresh down here in Orlando, and it works perfectly every time. This is also the SMOOTHEST reeling reel you’ll ever find. With a total of 7 bearings in it you’re definitely not frustrated with the reel when landing the fish. Highly recommend this. I am going to buy 4 more so I can have rod/reel setups for my friends when they come with me.

These are very comfortable boots that keep your feet dry — I’ve never had any rain-type boots more comfortable. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the right foot seemed a little bigger than the left — but it could also be my feet!

Very warm and everything you want in a hunting boot. Only problem is they run very large in size. Normally I wear a size 11 1/2 shoe, so ordered a size 12 and it is very big, even with an extra large pair of socks. Order one size smaller, it will fit.

My son (30yrs old) and I are believers in the Muck Boot brand. I purchased a pair of Wetlands to use during our winter weather here in E. Tennessee. My feet get uncomfortable in my Edgewaters when the temperatures dip into the 20s and below. The Wetland boot is a good boot when hunting in cold, wet weather or when hunting in areas where shallow water will be negotiated. If, you are sensitive to cold weather or live in areas that have much colder weather than the Chattanooga area you might be more pleased with the Woody series.

I am by no means a professional fisherman, but if you have the money, this reel is awesome. I am learning to use a baitcasting reel, but after about 30 mins in the yard, I felt like a pro. Adjusting the reel is key and is very easy. I have had very few tangles in the line and have taught other family members to cast using this reel. Newbies to baitcasting… just keep practicing, smart thumbs do exist, and this is an excellent reel to learn on. The fit and quality seem excellent. This may be a great reel for avid fishermen, but it is also great for beginners. I love this reel and will definitely buy another, and I encourage others to try it too.
